The authors report the cases of two patients who had chronic incapacit
ating heel pain unresponsive to standard therapy, They were both found
to have Paget's disease of the calcaneus. The diagnosis was difficult
because the typical roentgenological changes required time to develop

ions, elimination of weight-bearing, and standard analgesic therapy we
