THE ROLE OF CRIMINOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN DRUG LAW-ENFORCEMENT BY THE POLICE - THE SITUATION IN THE FEDERAL-REPUBLIC-OF-GERMANY

In view of the ever increasing drug problem it is necessary for the po lice to make better and more efficient use of their repressive and pre ventive potential. In this context the question arises whether crimino logical research can make a contribution to this issue. On the basis o f empirical studies an outline will be given of the research results w hich are useful to practical police work ranging from preparing situat ion reports to developing criminal and legal police strategies.
