Using conventional MIT bag model of confinement, the stability of bulk
strange quark matter (SQM) in the presence of a strong magnetic field
at zero temperature and zero pressure has been investigated. The bind
ing energy of SQM increases in the presence of strong magnetic field g
reater than or of the order of some critical value at which the cyclot
ron lines begin to occur. At finite temperature the pressure dependenc
e of the system has also been presented, which differs significantly f
rom zero magnetic field case.
