Abstract
A simplified experimental apparatus for Differential Electrochemical M ass Spectrometry (DEMS) was constructed having only one turbomolecular pump and a modified gas inlet system. The setup allows the determinat ion of the activity of porous PtRu electrodes for the electro-oxidatio n of small organic molecules. Various PtRu alloys with defined composi tion can be electrodeposited onto porous gold substrates. First result s on the electrooxidation of methanol in acid solution were presented.
