Abstract
Some results and analysis of total ozone measurements in 1991 - 1993 w ith TOMS/Meteor-3 and ground-based network in FSU are presented. In mi d and high latitudes of the northern hemisphere low (in comparison wit h climatic norms) values of total ozone are noted. Two years after Pin atubo eruption the stratosphere is still influenced by volcanic aeroso l. This phenomenon increases the efficiency of heterogeneous processes and may be responsible for anomalies in ozone content. Simultaneous v ertical ozone and aerosol measurements with balloons revealed anticorr elation between these components for the level of enhanced stratospher ic aerosol content. The results of ozone measurements over the Antarct ic continent show that the phenomenon of ''ozone hole'' is in progress . According to satellite-borne data for the Southern Hemisphere, for t he period of existence of ''ozone hole'' over the Antarctic continent in spring 1993 the total ozone content attained a record low value of 98 D.U., while the area of ozone hole nucleus within the contour of 20 0 D.U. reached 22.5 millions of square kilometers, i.e, had maximum ov er entire period of observations.
