The analysis of intra-annual evolution of the latitude-height field of
ozone mixing ratios is performed on the basis of ozone soundings at 2
8 stations of the world ozone network with the use of special method o
f amplitude-phase characteristics. Peculiarities in the annual ozone c
ourse are revealed in the middle and lower stratosphere, free troposph
ere and the atmospheric boundary layer in the Arctic, Antarctic and mi
ddle latitudes of both hemispheres. Various amplitude and phase charac
teristics show, in particular, differences in stratosphere-troposphere
interactions during phases of increase and decrease in tropospheric o
zone content; specific ozone intra; annual variations in the boundary
layer in high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere; different regimes
of ozone intra-annual variability in the middle stratosphere above and
beneath the 20 - 30 mb layer in middle latitudes; specific regimes of
developing and filling the Antarctic ozone ''hole''; ozone intra-annu
al variation in the neighborhood of the Antarctic tropopause and in th
e Antarctic surface layer, and other.
