Influence of dynamic processes in the atmosphere on the vertical ozone
distribution in the middle and upper stratosphere has been studied on
the base of observations in millimeter wave band at LPI Radioastronom
ical station in winter seasons of 1987 - 1990. Correlation of ozone co
ntent at various altitude levels (approximately from 30 to 55 km) both
with total ozone content and the sum of n = 1 and n = 2 planetary wav
e amplitudes has been considered. The comparison of the data has shown
that transport processes have noticeable influence on ozone content a
bove 30 km for conditions of considerable perturbations in the stratos
phere. For example, correlation coefficients of ozone content at 10 an
d 2.5 mbar levels with total ozone content were 0.74 and 0.57 correspo
ndingly. The conclusion was drawn that the vertical ozone distribution
in layers where the correlation has been discovered was influenced by
large-scale dynamical processes in winter stratosphere.
