Abstract
The mechanism of formation of 1,3,4-thiadiazol-2(3H)-ones 12-16 in the reactions of hydrazonoyl halides 1-5 with 1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thio nes 11 has been fully clarified by a study of the reactions of the Man nich bases 23 with 1-5 and of the azo coupling of (1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-y l)sulfanylmethine derivatives 20-22 with arenediazonium chlorides.
