Abstract
The application of fluorescence yield (FY) in the soft energy domain, and the problem of self-absorption corrections in the presence of pola rization dependent white lines are discussed here. A comparison of X-r ay FY and total electron yield (EY) X-ray absorption spectra at the Bi 2Sr2CaCu2O8 Cu-L(3) edge is presented.
