Abstract
X-ray absorption spectroscopy has been used to determine crystallograp hic characteristics of several heterostructures: the distortion of the FCC structure of Co layers in Co/Cu, the structure of sputtered Co/Cu multilayers and the atomic volume of Fe layers in Fe/Ru superlattices . This letter remarks the relation between structure and magnetic and elastic properties.
