STATUS-REPORT FROM THE BEAM LINE FOR IR SPECTROSCOPY AT MAX-LAB

Using synchrotron radiation from the Lund University storage ring, we carried out high resolution FTIR spectroscopy on IBr, ammonia and othe r small molecules. It is shown that synchrotron radiation can be much superior to a conventional black body source for high resolution spect roscopy. Preliminary calculations of vibration- rotation constants of IBr were carried out.
