Abstract
In this paper a method for the reliable quantitative analysis of indiv idual inorganic phases of solid samples by diffuse reflectance infrare d Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) is described. It is shown th at with reproducible sample preparation and decrease of the random and systematic errors the precision and the accuracy of the analysis reac h those of the transmission IR technique. The method has been applied for the determination of quartz and calcite in atmospheric aerosols an d clinoptilolite in natural zeolite rocks.
