Oy. Eremina et al., ON THE MECHANISM OF ACTION OF 1,3,2-OXAZA PHOSPHIRINAN DERIVATIVES ONINSECTS, Izvestia Akademii nauk SSSR. Seria biologiceskaa, (6), 1996, pp. 664-675
The insecticide effect and combined action of two groups of 1,3,2-oxaz
aphosphorinan derivatives together with pyrethroids on house flies and
synanthropic cockroaches were studied. The mechanisms underlying the
action of these compounds involving interaction with the esterase comp
lex, monooxygenase systems, and glutathione-S-transferase of insects h
ave also been investigated. The compounds studied do not exert the ins
ecticide effect, but enhance the effects of permetrin and sumitrin on
the insects. The synergistic effect depends on the length of the carbo
n chain in the alctiol substitute of 2-alkylmercapto-2-tio-1,3,2-oxaza
phosphorinan. This effect correlates with the anticarboxylesterase act
ivity found by PAAG. A possible scheme of metabolism of 1,3,2-oxazapho
sphorinan has been proposed, according to which metabolites with a hig
h antiesterase activity can be formed in insects.
