Abstract
This comment raises criticisms of the article by Warhurst (1995) which
previously appeared in this journal, and also of the response by Blyt
on and Turnbull (1996). It is argued that both discussions of industri
al relations in the European airline industry fail to stress sufficien
tly the rise in industrial conflict which stems from the economizing s
trategies of company managements.
