Abstract
A measure of the conditioning of an operator, depending on the strong monotonicity constant and on the Dunn constant, is introduced. A notio n of regularization with respect to some operator, which allows the co nstruction of decomposition algorithms, is defined. The effect of this transformation on the conditioning is studied.
