Abstract
Two new species of ranid frogs are described from the southern part of Borneo (Central Kalimantan). Both species are characterized by very s mall clutch size and enlarged ova, indicating departure from the typic al ranid reproductive pattern. The new species share characteristics o f Rana kuhlii and R. finchi, and are compared with these and other rel ated species. Further faunal exploration of Kalimantan is expected to uncover additional new species.
