Abstract
Besides the common urinary stones, calcium oxalate and uric acid stone s (see part 1), phosphate, cystine and some rare stones have been diag nosed in Germany. In most cases, these stones wich are caused by metab olic and/or renal disorders and/or urinary tract infection, require me dication. A change in nutrition may reduce drugs considerably, however . This is of great importance in view of lifelong medication required for the incurable underlying disorders. Part 2 offers specific dietary advice for each of the above stone types.
