Abstract
Addition of aldehydes to cyclohexenylphosphonate carbanions could be e ffected under very mild conditions and generally gave alpha-addition p roducts. In almost all cases studied, a mixture of diastereoisomers wa s obtained. As with alkylation,(1) the addition reactions were governe d by steric effect's.
