The reaction of PCl3 with propanolamine-1.3 in the presence of NEt(3)
was studied and found to form two heterocyclic compounds, the loro-3-d
ichlorophosphanyl-1.3.2-oxazaphosphorinane and the 2-aminopropoxy-1.3.
2-oxazaphosphorinane, which could be isolated and characterized. By lo
w-temperature NMR the formation of the loro-3-dichlorophosphanyl-1.3.2
-oxazaphosphorinane was found to proceed via a diphosphanylated propan
olamine-1.3.
