Abstract
We describe the first synthesis of an unsatured cyclic diphenyl phosph onium salt of type 2, the 1,1-diphenyl 2,5-dihydrophospholium salt 2d. The method involves a cycle-addition of the diphenyl halophosphine to the corresponding diene. The salt 2d allowed the access to interestin g alkadienyl phosphine oxides 4 and trienes 6.
