Aminolysis of two-ring bridged-assembly cyclophosphazenes (coded as bi
no moieties) by long-chain diamines, H2N-(CH2)(n)-NH2 (n greater than
or equal to 6), leads regiospecifically to decadangling (or decapodane
s or decapus) monomeric species provided it was achieved on alumina im
pregnated with a suitable amount of potassium hydroxide. These reactio
ns run very fast at room temperature. Such decapodanes constitute star
ting materials (spherical bi-cores) for future design of cyclophosphaz
enic dandelion dendrimers.
