Pa. Tsonis et K. Delriotsonis, PROTEIN SEPARATION TECHNIQUES IN THE STUDY OF TISSUE REGENERATION, Journal of chromatography, 698(1-2), 1995, pp. 361-367
The present report reviews the use of protein separation by means of t
wo-dimensional gel electrophoresis in the study of tissue regeneration
. It is shown that such an approach can provide data on protein synthe
sis in different stages of limb regeneration or comparative data with
other regenerative processes such as tail and lens regeneration. Such
an approach is more realistic than other methods employing gene clonin
g or generation of antibodies and can lead to the actual identificatio
n and characterization of factors that are involved in these phenomena
.
