Abstract
A new and efficient method for oxidising sulfides selectively to sulfo xides has been developed with atmospheric oxygen, in the presence of i sobutyraldehyde and catalysed by Ni-II complexes such as 3-bis-(p-meth oxyphenyl)-1,3-propanedionato]nickel, [Ni(dmp)(2)], and bis[acetylacet onato]nickel, [Ni(acac)(2)].
