STEREOCHEMISTRY OF P-CHIRAL THIOXOPHOSPHORANESULFENYL HALIDES RR'P(S)SX-

Stereoselective synthesis of the P-chiral thioxaphosphoranesulfenyl (d icyclohexyl)amide (1-menthyl-O)PhP(S)SN(C6H11)(2) and its conversion i nto the P-chiral thioxaphosphoranesulfenyl chloride (1-menthyl-O)PhP(S )SCl is described. First synthesis of P-chiral thioxaphosphoranesulfen yl bromides (1-menthyl-O)PhP(S)SBr via the bromolysis of the bis-thiop hosphoryl disulfide [(1-menthyl-O)PhP(S)S-)](2) is presented. Transfor mations of P-chiral thioxaphosphoranesulfenyl chlorides and bromides i nto the corresponding sulfenamides proceed with the preservation of st ereochemical integrity at the chiral P-center.
