Jh. Hollom et Kj. Pulford, EXPERIENCE OF SOFTWARE MEASUREMENT PROGRAMS AND APPLICATION OF THE AMI METHOD WITHIN GEC, GEC journal of research, 12(1), 1995, pp. 17-25
The systematic application of measurement and metrics to software proj
ects is seen as a way of gaining better control and visibility and as
a way of improving the efficiency of the software processes. In this p
aper experience of using metrics on software projects within GEC is de
scribed An approach to implementing a measurement programme, call the
'ami' method, was produced in an ESPRIT project led by GEC. This metho
d incorporates pragmatic experience from Europe, Japan and the USA. It
has been extensively used within GEC as a basis of its measurement pr
ogrammes. The paper describes the method and its advantages and relate
s experience of using the method within GEC.
