The emission spectrum of [Cr(urea)(6)]I-3 single crystals excited unde
r resonance condition into the zero phonon (4)A(2g)-->E(1/2)((2)E(g))
absorption line, which is inhomogeneously broadened from 14210 to 1424
0 cm(-1), is recorded at 1.9 K. The vibrational sideband spectrum is s
hifted in a characteristic way, the spectral profile being changed onl
y in some minor details. All features can be explained by energy trans
fer processes between majority and minority complex species which have
small differences of transition energies in the crystal.
