MICRO-DEFORMATION IN THE SN REGION

The mechanism of generating deformation was investigated in the singly closed shell region. It was shown that even a single proton is able t o polarize the neutron cloud and generate some very small, beta(2)(pal ) approximate to 0.02 deformation. As fingerprints of this kind of mic ro-deformation the induction of quadrupole moment for the core, the al ignment of broken pairs and the rearrangement of the neutron density d istribution by a single proton are discussed.
