The effect of gallium oxide on crystallization, thermal expansion and
dielectric behaviors of a binary glass composite which contains a low-
softening Pyrex borosilicate glass and a high-softening high silica gl
ass has been studied. It is found that on sintering, cristobalite prec
ipitates out of the initial amorphous binary glass mixture; however, t
he addition of gallium oxide prevents this. The above result is furthe
r supported by microstructural observation, thermal expansion and diel
ectric constant measurements.
