Abstract
The gas electron diffraction data of tetramethyloxorhenium, (CH3)(4)Re O, recorded with a nozzle temperature of about 30 degrees C are consis tent with the molecular symmetry C-4v. Least-square refinements yield the bond distances (r(a)) Re=O = 168.2(3) pm and Re-C = 211.7(3) pm an d the valence angles angle C-Re-C = 82(1)degrees and angle C-Re-O = 11 2(1)degrees.
