Abstract
We review the methods of studying the spin-lattice and magnetization r elaxation at high magnetic fields taking as an example the results obt ained for semimagnetic semiconductors. The role of phonons which canno t be described by the Debye approximation is shown. The different rela xation paths are discussed. The effect of relaxation in exchange coupl ed pairs is presented.
