Abstract
Isothiazolyl complexes have been synthesized by the addition of isothi azol-5-yllithium to gold(I) chloride or tetrahydrothiophene(pentafluor ophenyl)gold complexes. Protonation or alkylation of these isothiazoly l complexes yielded the corresponding isothiazolinylidene complexes. T he mono(isothiazolyl)aurate and mono(isothiazolinylidene) complexes un dergo homoleptic rearrangement. The molecular structure of the mono(is othiazolyl) complex [Au(C=CHCH=NS)(PPh(3))] shows a gold-carbon bond l ength of 2.032(7) Angstrom.
