Abstract
The absolute configuration of the sesquiterpene aldehyde tridensenal i solated from the Taiwanese liverwort Bazzania tridens has been determi ned by a total synthesis of the optically active compound as well as i ts diastereoisomer to have S,R configuration starting from (-)- and ()-menth-1-ene and (+)-pulegone,. respectively.
