Mc. Norotsky et al., DELAYED PRESENTATION OF SPLENIC ARTERY PSEUDOANEURYSMS FOLLOWING BLUNT ABDOMINAL-TRAUMA - CASE-REPORTS, The journal of trauma, injury, infection, and critical care, 38(3), 1995, pp. 444-447
Splenic artery pseudoaneurysms are known to be caused by either pancre
atitis or operative trauma. We present two patients who had delayed pr
esentation of splenic artery pseudoaneurysms secondary to blunt abdomi
nal trauma. This is the first report of splenic artery pseudoaneurysms
following trauma and demonstrates the importance of follow-up compute
d tomography scans in patients with splenic injuries who are treated n
onoperatively.
