Abstract
An electrical column explosion of a copper and graphite powder mixture
was investigated and one possible model was established, in which suc
h a powder mixture is anisotropically heated by an electric current du
e to the difference in resistivities of the constituents. One of the c
onstituents of the powder mixture reaches its boiling point at a short
er time, thus leading to the column explosion.
