Abstract
Electronic chaos in thyristors ws observed by ac signal excitation of the anode of thyristors. The origin of this chaotic phenomenon ws reve aled by detailed measurement of the p-base potential, measurement with a coupled-transistor structure and the results of SPICE simulation. C haos was generated by the return-mapping nature in the variation of th e p-base potential. Chaotic behavior in a thyristor was also reproduce d in the experimental coupled-transistor structure and in the results of SPICE simulation.
