INVESTIGATIONS ON THE POTASSIUM AND MAGNESIUM RETAINING ACTIVITY OF ACIDIC TRIAMTERENE DERIVATIVES IN COMBINATION WITH FUROSEMIDE

In this study the magnesium and potassium retaining properties of tria mterene derivatives with a carboxylic acid moiety in the side chain we re examined in combination with furosemide. It could be demonstrated t hat the acidic compounds with only weak potassium retaining effects wh en applied alone, are useful potassium sparing agents in combination w ith Furosemide. On the other hand no magnesium retaining properties of these derivatives were found, even in the presence of furosemide.
