Abstract
We present the results of diffuse neutron scattering experiments on a single crystal of disordered alpha-VD0.781 at room temperature. The sh ort range order of the deuterium atoms was described quantitatively in terms of SRO parameters. From these the D-D interaction parameters fo r a metal hydrogen system were determined for the first time by using the inverse Monte Carlo method.
