Abstract
Results of STM/STS studies on single crystals of La2-xSrxCuO4 are pres ented. For analyses of STM/STS data of high-T-c oxides, a phenomenolog ical model is proposed, where the contribution of electrons with a wav e vector kappa to the tunneling current is mainly determined by the ka ppa-dependent ''form factor'' of the p(sigma) orbitals of surface oxyg ens in the antibonding band formed by the Cu 3d(x2-y2) and O 2p(sigma) orbitals. Various characteristics of STM/STS data are shown to be con sistent with the model.
