Abstract
We describe a series of six patients with symptomatic respiratory sync ytial virus (RSV) infections while receiving anticancer chemotherapy. Particularly during epidemics in the general population, RSV remains a potential cause for morbidity and even mortality among children immun ocompromised through the administration of anticancer chemotherapy and especially those being transplanted. We emphasize the importance of r apid diagnostics as well as prevention of the spread of the virus in a pediatric hematology/oncology unit. (C) 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
