Vi. Popa et al., RESEARCHES ON THE PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTION OF SOME POLYPHENOLIC AND LIGNINIC PRODUCTS UPON PLANT-GROWTH, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 40(7-8), 1995, pp. 701-708
Polyphenolic compounds extracted from spruce mood bark, as well as amm
onia lignosulfonates resulted from spruce mood delignification, have b
een modified through oxidation reactions with hydrogen peroxide. Both
unmodified and modified products have been tested as to their physiolo
gical action upon bean seed germination, as well as upon greenhouse an
d field Vicia faba hibrida cultures. The results obtained have evidenc
ed a favourable action of the tested products both on germination and
on the subsequent stages of plant growth, the activity recorded depend
ing on the nature of compound, and on the modification had in view, as
well.
