Abstract
Photochemical behavior of some azobenzene derivatives and the substitu ent effect on the photoisomerization of azo moieties were studied. Kin etics of trans-cis-trans photoisomerization and thermal cis-trans-isom erization of azo group were also investigated and the kinetic paramete rs are reported. Tile derivatives containing acryloyl or cinnamoyl gro ups seem to undergo the following complexation reaction: 2 cis-azo --> cis-azo: trans-azo.
