D. Cusick et al., CORONARY-ARTERY STENTING POSTCARDIAC TRANSPLANT - A REPORT OF 2 CASES, Catheterization and cardiovascular diagnosis, 40(1), 1997, pp. 92-96
Coronary atherosclerosis remains a significant cause of morbidity and
mortality following cardiac transplantation. Coronary artery bypass gr
afting, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, and directiona
l coronary atherectomy have all been presented as attempted treatment
options in this population with generally suboptimal results. Endovasc
ular stenting is a new transcatheter treatment modality with unique po
tential advantages as compared to other transcatheter revascularizatio
n techniques, This report presents the use of endovascular stenting an
d 6-mo follow-up in two orthotopic cardiac transplant recipients with
proximal stenotic posttransplant graft atherosclerosis. (C) 1997 Wiley
