We report here a case of thromboembolism occurring in a 29-year-old wo
man with transient eosinophilia, Eosinophilia for at least 11 days was
followed by pulmonary embolism. Both reperfusion of pulmonary arterie
s and disappearance of deep vein thrombi were obtained by treatment wi
th urokinase, tissue plasminogen activator, and heparin, Although the
causes of eosinophilia were not specified, we suggested a causative co
rrelation of elevated serum levels of eosinophil granule proteins with
the development of thromboembolism.
