DUODENAL PHYTOBEZOAR - A CASE-REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Phytobezoars are an unusual cause of small bowel obstruction. We repor t a case of small bowel obstruction due to phytobezoar in a 63 year-ol d female patient who had undergone gastric surgery (truncal vagotomy w ith pyloroplasty) for duodenal ulcer disease complicated by gastric ou tlet obstruction 10 years ago. We diagnosed this bezoar case by radiol ogic methods and these methods keep their importance for the diagnosis of small bowel obstruction with phytobezoars
