Tobacco cv. Samsun was transformed by two Agrobacterium tumefaciens bi
nary vectors. The vector pCB1334 brought into the plant genome kanamyc
in resistance marker and pTiC58 T-DNA gene 4. The pCB1349 vector also
carried kanamycin resistance marker together with genes 1, 2 and 5. Th
e re-generated transgenic plants showed several differences from untra
nsformed controls on both physiological and morphological levels. All
transgenic clones showed a decrease of dry matter content in compariso
n with untransformed controls. Clones carrying transgene 4 showed a de
creased level of chlorophylls, especially chlorophyll alpha.
