Abstract
A field experiment on mixed cropping in fingermillet [Eleusine coracan a (L.) Gaertn.] was conducted under rainfed condition during rainy (kh arif) season of 1991 and 1992. Grain yield of fingermillet was highest (17.55 q/ha) in sole crop. It was decreased in all the mixed-cropping patterns except in fingermillet + soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] in 9 : 1 row ratio which recorded the highest total grain yield of 21.94 q/ ha. The land-equivalent ratio (1.35) and higher fingermillet-equiv alent yield (30.30 q/ha) were also recorded in same treatment.
