T. Koshinaga et al., UNIQUE PRESENTATION OF HETEROTOPIC PANCREATIC TISSUE ARISING FROM SMALL-BOWEL MESENTERY, Pediatric surgery international, 11(2-3), 1996, pp. 182-184
Heterotopic pancreatic tissue in the small-bowel mesentery is an extre
mely rare anomaly: no such case has been reported in the English liter
ature. We report a 5-year-old boy in whom the aberrant tissue formed a
retroperitoneal cyst. The condition was further complicated by a vent
ral pancreatic duct defect. The unique clinical manifestations and dif
ficulty in making the diagnosis are discussed.
