J. Granifo et H. Rocha, METAL(II) COMPLEXES OF TRIDENTATE AND BRIDGING BIS(TRIDENTATE) NEUTRAL THIOSEMICARBAZONES OBTAINED FROM 2-ACETYLPYRIDINE AND THE RELATED 2,2'-PYRIDIL, Journal of coordination chemistry, 34(1), 1995, pp. 23-30
The new ligands 2-acetylpyridine-2-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (apmt) a
nd 2-pyridylglyoxal-bis(2-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone) (pgmt) have been
used to prepare metal(II) complexes [M(apmt)Cl-2] (M=Mn, Fe, Co), [M(
apmt)Cl]Cl(M=Ni, Cu), [M(2)(pgmt)Cl-4](M-Mn, Co), [M(2)(pgmt)Cl-2]Cl-2
(M=Ni, Cu) and the polymeric [Fe(pgmt)]Cl-2 . H2O. The tentative stru
ctures of these complexes involve four-five- and six-coordinate enviro
nments for the cations, a tridentate chelation for the apmt ligand and
bridging bis(tridentate) behaviour for the pgmt ligand. The novel sub
stances were characterized by IR, H-1 NMR, electronic spectroscopy, co
nductivity and magnetic moment measurements.
