Abstract
Vaporisation of ZrF4 from solid ZrF4 was investigated at various tempe ratures. The rates of ZrF4 vaporisation during the melting of ZBLAN fl uoride glass were determined at various temperatures. The vaporisation of ZrF4 from solid ZrF4 and from the glass mix was found to obey zero order and second order kinetics, respectively. The activation energy of ZrF4 vaporisation from solid ZrF4 and from the glass mix were also determined.
