Abstract
(NH4)(2)Co-8(CO3)(6)(OH)(6) . 4H(2)O was prepared by digesting Co-2(OH )(2)CO3 . xH(2)O in water solution of NH4HCO3. Chemical analyses, diff use reflectance spectroscopy and XRD data proved that this compound, l ike Na2Co8(CO3)(6)(OH)(6) . 6H(2)O and K2Co8(CO3)(6)(OH)(6) . 4H(2)O, is a derivative of the kambaldaite Na2Ni8(CO3)(6)(OH)(6) . 6H(2)O, a m ineral with an unique channel structure which had no other synthetic o r natural analogues.
